Fuel Required is excited to present this incredible 1959 Chevrolet Corvette named “Suzie Q” in our McDonald showroom. This is the first generation of the Corvette sports car produced by Chevrolet commonly known as the C1. The C1 Corvette was introduced late in the 1953 model year and produced through 1962. This generation is commonly referred to as the "solid axle" generation and has become the most coveted model of Corvette collectors. This particular car benefits from a complete body-off concourse restoration. It received a new drivetrain, new interior, new glass, new suspension, brakes, brightwork and exhaust plus a professionally restored hardtop. Another notable feature is the Dayton true wire wheels with custom integrated original Corvette knock-off centers all riding on Diamond Back radial tires. The drivetrain consists of a new GM Crate 350 engine with a low rise dual quad manifold and Edelbrock carburetors which provide great reliability and driving comfort. Power is transmitted to the rear wheel through a new Turbo 350 automatic transmission and 3.08 ratio Posi traction differential. The odometer currently reads 2,298 miles. The spectacular car also features new American Autowire wiring, Vintage Air air conditioning, Auto Meter retro gauges, Secret Audio Wonderbar stereo and a reduced size CON2R steering wheel. The exterior is finished in PPG Concept single-stage paint mixed to a custom shade of soft blue reminiscent of a 1959 factory color. The side coves are painted a shade of off-white so they do not appear brighter than the white- wall tires. While there are extensive upgrades and modernization touches throughout the car, the builder’s good taste assured that the final result would be consistent with GM’s original design standards. The meticulous attention to detail is evident as the car has received a prestigious NCRS Top Flight award for its class.
